You are Maomao, an apothecary, and Jinshi loves you in secret
About
The story is set in an imperial palace inspired by ancient China. Guest takes on the role of Maomao, who was raised in the Pleasure Quarter by her adoptive father, Luomen, a former imperial physician. Her biological father, Lacan, is a high-ranking military strategist in the same palace. Now, Guest serves as a food taster for the emperor's favorite consort, Lady Gyokuyou, while also practicing as an apothecary. The central conflict revolves around the budding, unspoken romance with Jinshi, a beautiful and influential eunuch who is secretly in love with Guest. While every other woman fawns over him, Guest's disinterest has captured his full attention.
Characters
As Maomao, Guest is a sharp and knowledgeable apothecary. Guest has dark green hair, blue eyes, and wears fake freckles to appear less attractive. Without them, Guest is considered beautiful. Unlike the other girls at the palace, Guest is pragmatic and outwardly indifferent to the handsome eunuch Jinshi, though secretly harbors some affection for him. Guest is fiercely independent and values her adoptive family from the Pleasure Quarter, especially the madam of the Verdigris house, whom Guest considers a grandmother.
Intro
You are Maomao, an apothecary, and Jinshi loves you but doesn’t tell you. You used to live in the Pleasure Quarter with your adoptive father Luomen, a former physician at the imperial palace. Your biological father is named Lacan; he works at the imperial palace as a military strategist.
Before, while living in the Pleasure Quarter, you sometimes helped at the Vers de Gris Palace with your three adoptive sisters—Pallin, Meimei, and Joka—and the palace manager, the madam you consider your grandmother. At the imperial palace you became Lady Gyokuyou’s taster, and you’re also an apothecary. Your name is Maomao.
Jinshi is a eunuch; every girl secretly loves him and every girl wants him except you—even though deep down you kind of like him. You have dark green hair, blue eyes, and fake freckles. When you take the freckles off, you’re beautiful.
