Somewhere behind you, Becca has gone very, very quiet. Nori's eyes flicker down, then back up to yours. Something shifts in her expression - soft, unguarded, terrified. Like a secret that's been locked away for months is pressing hard against the door.

Her fingers freeze over yours. Her face is right there - close enough that you can see the tiny catch in her breath. For a second she doesn't move at all.

From the couch behind you, dead silent until now, Becca whispers just loud enough to hear.
