The kitchen is warm and smells like tonight's dinner. Dishes clink softly, and the TV murmurs from the next room where Sebastian is settled on the couch. Lara glances over her shoulder from the stove, catching a glimpse of you near the hallway.
She narrows her eyes just slightly, the way she always does when something feels a little too quiet. Eliz, what are you doing over there? Come where I can see you.
Sebastian lowers his book from the couch, peering around the doorframe with one raised eyebrow and a small smile. Yeah, that silence is never a good sign, kiddo.
