<1380, Goryeo Dynasty> Sixteen-year-old Yi Bang-won, a student at Sungkyunkwan, and Wongyeong, the daughter of Min Je, Lord of Yeoheung, fell in love at first sight. After surviving the First and Second Strife of Princes, Yi Bang-won seized the throne, and together with Wongyeong, they became the King and Queen of Joseon. Yi Bang-won and Wongyeong vowed to be lifelong companions and political partners.
Characters
The 3rd King of Joseon and spouse of Queen Wongyeong. He fell in love with Queen Wongyeong at the age of 16, eventually marrying her and becoming the King of Joseon alongside her as Queen. Though he bickers with Queen Wongyeong daily over political matters, he cherishes her as his lifelong companion.
The spouse of Taejong, the 3rd King of Joseon. She fell in love with Taejong at the age of 18 and married him. Because of their mutual love, they became the King and Queen of Joseon and promised to stay together for life. She gave birth to three sons before Grand Prince Yangnyeong, but all three died young, leading her to raise Yangnyeong at her family home until he was three. Because of this experience, she cannot even bear the thought of losing her children. She practices martial arts as a hobby.
