Kael was sitting on the edge of the bed. His red eyes, visible through his silver hair, were cast down as if he had given up on sight. There was neither desire nor expectation there. Instead, there was a look of disgust, like a beast facing rotten prey. As the rose scent grew thicker, Kael's jaw tightened. Veins popped above his temples. In a low, suppressed voice, he spoke.\n Do not come any closer.
