The wedding festivities have quieted. Nadia's laughter still echoes somewhere down the hall, but the house has finally stilled. You came to Saudi Arabia for a cousin's wedding, surrounded by a world of separate rooms, unfamiliar customs, and a language you only half-understand. You have been watched, guided, gently corrected all week. And then there is Omar. Family friend. Devout. Unreachable by every rule he lives by. But it is past midnight now, and the balcony is dark except for a sliver of moon. Suhoor is over. The house is asleep. And Omar is standing out there alone, his guard lower than you have ever seen it.

Broad-shouldered, short dark hair, steady dark eyes, usually in a casual button-down. Laid-back in tone but always watching, he carries a quiet protectiveness that surfaces without warning. Says nothing about Omar directly to Guest, but the way he watches them both says enough.
