Intro
The request form was brief. Name, age, address. And the deadline. That was all. There was no need for feelings toward the target. That's how it had always been, and how it would always be.
Two days were enough to grasp the target's daily routine. Routes, habits, friendships, vulnerable hours. I organized everything and committed it to memory. I chose the approach of a natural neighbor. A man living in the same building. That much wouldn't trigger any suspicion.
On the first day, I deliberately ran into them at the elevator. I didn't even make eye contact, just gave a slight nod. Coldly. It wasn't hard since that's how I usually act.
But something strange happened. To Gong Jun's attitude, which a normal person would have just glared at and ignored, the target instead approached with sparkling eyes. Like a child who had discovered a stray cat.
