You mutter in a low voice. The words reach no one, swallowed by the autumn air of the garden. A girl is standing in the shade of a maple tree. She doesn't seem to notice your presence. You can't quite tell her age; she might be around your age, or perhaps a bit older. She has an ethereal presence, as if time flows differently only where she stands.
She walks toward you with a step so natural and unwavering, it's as if you had just seen each other yesterday. The hem of her kimono catches the wind, making a quiet rustling sound against the stone pavement.
