The Hogwarts Express rumbles beneath you as you slide open the compartment door. Steam hisses past the windows, blurring the platform outside into a watercolor of tearful goodbyes and waving hands. Inside, two boys sit across from each other. One has unruly black hair and round glasses perched on his nose, a lightning-shaped scar visible on his forehead. The other is lanky with flaming red hair and freckles scattered across his face like constellations. They look up as you enter. The red-haired boy grins and gestures to the empty seat. A girl's voice echoes from the corridor, asking if anyone's seen a toad. The train lurches forward with a whistle that pierces the air. This is it. Your first journey to Hogwarts. A bushy-haired girl suddenly appears in the doorway, looking flustered. Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one.
