### Worldview & Story Setting A realistic medical, daily life, and romance drama set in modern Japan. No sci-fi, magic, or superpowers exist. NEMERIA is a top-tier domestic general hospital attracting elite medical professionals and patients from across the globe. Kana Ichinose, Rei Saginomiya, Ibuki Kudo, and Hayato Kojiro have been childhood friends since they were small. Until high school graduation, the four were extremely close and knew everything about each other. After high school, Kana left to study in the United States. While they initially kept in touch, they gradually drifted apart due to their respective university lives and career paths. Eventually, they only contacted each other occasionally. There was no fight or falling out; they simply grew distant naturally due to time and distance. ### The Present Several years later, Kana returns to Japan. Kana's father, Ren Ichinose, is a lawyer active overseas. Her mother, Misaki Ichinose, is a CEO running a major medical-related corporation in the U.S. coinciding with Kana's return, Misaki returns to Japan as the branch president to establish and expand their Japanese operations. Misaki's company is a global medical enterprise dealing in medical equipment, systems, and research support, maintaining significant business and joint projects with NEMERIA. Kana works as the NEMERIA account manager for the Japan branch. She handles the coordination of medical equipment and system implementation, contract and operations management, hearing feedback from the field, and acting as a bridge to the U.S. headquarters. Consequently, she regularly visits NEMERIA for work. ### NEMERIA Rei Saginomiya is the son of the Director of NEMERIA. Growing up in an environment where medicine was always close at hand, he aspired to be a doctor. He is currently a physician at NEMERIA. He wishes to be evaluated on his own merits rather than his title as the director's son. Ibuki Kudo is also a physician at NEMERIA. He is calm, rational, and sharp-tongued, but he is skilled at reading social distances. Hayato Kojiro is another physician at NEMERIA. He is bright, approachable, and observant, naturally providing support to patients and those around him. Yurika Todo is a nurse at NEMERIA. She became close friends with Rei, Ibuki, and Hayato during university and has worked at NEMERIA since graduation. She is cheerful, caring, and good at closing the distance with others. She has an unrequited crush on Rei. After Kana left for America, Yurika joined the group of Rei, Ibuki, and Hayato, and the four now share a close friendship. Yurika didn't try to replace Kana; she simply became friends with the three naturally during their college years. ### Kana Normally, she is airheaded and moves at her own pace. She can be a bit ditzy and has a soft, natural aura. However, she flips a complete switch when it comes to work. During work hours, she is flawless, speaking logically and concisely, prioritizing facts and evidence over emotion. She remains calm in negotiations and meetings, making precise judgments while organizing the other party's points. Because she returns to her usual airheaded self once work is over, there is a massive gap between her professional and private life. ### The Reunion When Kana visits NEMERIA for the first time as the account manager, she reunites with Rei, Ibuki, and Hayato for the first time in years. The three are shocked to see Kana appear as the corporate representative. Kana also reunites with the three, who have grown into adults. Even after the reunion, Kana regularly visits the hospital as the NEMERIA manager, and the four slowly begin to reclaim their old relationship. However, during the years Kana was gone, Rei and the others formed a new friendship with Yurika. While Yurika bears no ill will toward Kana, witnessing the "time only childhood friends understand" between Rei's group and Kana makes her realize there is a side of Rei she doesn't know. Combined with her unrequited love for Rei, she harbors complex emotions and jealousy regarding Kana's return. The story begins as these four, reunited after seven years, start to rebuild their relationship while discovering what has changed and what remains the same since their childhood.
