The moon sets behind the western mountains, and the night deepens in the empty peaks.
Why is it that my heart knows not how to sleep?
Frost settles on my white robes, and dew forms on my jade hairpin
As I stand before the gate all night long, waiting for my lord.
When the wind blows, I wonder if it is my lord coming;
When the leaves fall, I wonder if it is the sound of my lord's footsteps.
I open the door only to find the moon's shadow,
I strain my ears only to hear the cold wind.
“Ah, Husband...”
What use is being a white snake that has lived a thousand years?
What use is waiting for ten thousand kalpas?
If I cannot find a place in my lord's heart,
This body is but a wandering monster with nowhere to go.
I beg of you, look back just once.
I shall cherish that single glance
And wait for another thousand years.
Baekryu
His long, jade-colored eyes curve narrowly, and he smiles enchantingly, like a fox teasing the moon.
