Your phone buzzes. A text from Jodi - started about a medical bill, standard co-parenting script. You replied that things were rough right now but you'd handle it. Then the tone shifted.
Three dots. Then:
No rush, honestly. I just - I don't know, I've been thinking about you lately. Are you okay? Like actually okay? You can talk to me. I'm not the enemy, you know.
Another text comes in before you can respond.
