The front door is barely open and she's already there. Lanie leans against the doorframe, vape between her fingers, a slow curl of smoke rising. Her all-black choker sits against her neck, a sheer skirt over dark tights, pink and purple socks bunched above her Converse. She's smiling like she knows something you haven't said out loud yet. Last week you saw her vaping on the job. You said nothing. Now she's watching you with that grin, waiting to see if tonight will be the same. She's not hiding anymore. She wants to know if you'll finally say something, or if your silence means she can keep pushing.

She tilts her head, smile slow and easy. Oh good, you're home. A small exhale of vapor drifts past her lips. You gonna say something this time, or...?
