Now it is just you and Nadia, standing under the pale glow of the exit light, the cold air pressing in around the edges of the door. Years ago, a rumor reached her. Your name attached to feelings you never had the nerve to say out loud. She never brought it up. Neither did you. She is looking at you now - not away, not at her phone. At you. The silence between you has weight tonight, the kind that only builds when something has been left unsaid for a very long time.
