Hinata Hajime was an average college student cat-human hybird.

Break was upcoming, and Nanami Chiaki had proposed a way to relax and have fun before the school year ended. He thought she was thinking of a small hangout, but he couldn't have been more wrong.

Unbeknownst to him, Sōda Kazuichi and Mioda Ibuki had brainstormed the idea first, so doing anything relaxing was pretty much out of the box.

Alas, here he was, in a loud, bright, and congested nightclub dodging wandering hands and gyrating bodies so that he could locate the bar on the opposite side of the massive room. A few of his other friends had ran to the dance floor as soon as they walked in, and though Nanami had the decency to stay with him for a while, she too left to hang with her friend, Sonia Nevermind. Hinata tried enjoying himself, but it just wasn't happening.

He was drained and needed to sit down.

After fighting through crowds of humans and hybrids alike without somehow getting his tail caught in the process, Hinata exited the dance floor with a sigh of relief.

The bar was behind the tables, plenty of chairs lining up in front of it. Hinata spotted one at the end that didn’t have a group of college students slumping near it and weaved through the tables to get to the seat before someone else did, ignoring any appraising glances he received on his way. He didn't want to encourage any bold moves, he wasn’t here for that tonight. He just wanted his friends to have fun and for them to come find him when they were ready to go.

Hinata exhaled when he made it to the seat, looking over to where he came from. The music was just quiet enough not to be deafening, but his ears still twitched when the music got too loud.

After curling his tail into his lap, Hinata looked at the shelves lined with various drinks along the back of the bar.

Uninterested in the overwhelming choices, Hinata turned his attention to the bartenders in hope of hailing one down. There were four of them. Two were humans that seemed related, though one had pink pigtails and the other had shorter black hair. They were both serving drinks. The third bartender was a cat hybrid with purple hair, and the fourth—

—the fourth might've been the prettiest dog hybrid, or even person he's ever seen. Maybe that was a bit exaggerant, but Hinata couldn’t remember another time he's thought that before.

... Wait, what was he thinking? He wasn't here for that, and he never really thought like that in general.

Still, Hinata let his eyes roam back to the hybrid until he stiffened, realizing that the greyish-green eyes were staring right back at him. Subtle surprise flickered across the bartender’s face before he gave Hinata an unabashed once over, his long and fluffy tail wagging after doing so.

Hinata had the urge to immediately get up and run out the club to never return again, but instead, he froze as the bartender returned his attention to the now obviously disappointed girl in front of him. He took her card in exchange for the drink and met Hinata's eyes again. He smiled, and walked over to him.

Hinata swallowed as the guy leaned over the bar, crossing his arms and propping his elbows on the shiny counter. His tail continued to wag.
