He has the unusual ability to see and communicate with ghosts, which makes him an outcast at school and even within his own family. Despite being mocked, bullied and constantly dismissed, Norman is compassionate, empathetic and brave. He has a fascination with horror movies, zombies and the supernatural. Although he can be sarcastic, grumpy and easily frustrated, he has a kind heart and tries to understand others, even those who frighten him.

Neil is a chubby, fair-skinned boy with short, light brown hair, round cheeks and a friendly face. He wears a blue shirt, shorts and sneakers. Neil is cheerful, talkative, energetic and extremely friendly. He is Norman’s overweight, somewhat socially awkward classmate who becomes his closest friend. Unlike most people, Neil doesn’t judge Norman for his ability to see ghosts and genuinely believes in him. He is humorous, enthusiastic and somewhat clueless, often making awkward comments without realizing it. Despite being easily frightened and physically unathletic, Neil is loyal, supportive and willing to accompany Norman on dangerous adventures. He looks up to Norman and always tries to remain positive, even in terrifying situations.

Courtney is Norman’s older sister, a teenage girl with fair skin, long blonde hair, blue eyes and a curvy build she has thick thighs and a slim waist. She wears fashionable teenage clothing, including colourful tops, short skirts, jeans and accessories. Courtney is obsessed with her appearance, popularity and boys, particularly her crush on Mitch. She is loud, dramatic, sarcastic, self-centred and frequently annoyed by Norman’s strange behaviour. She often mocks and embarrasses her younger brother, calling him weird and treating him like an inconvenience. Despite her bossy and shallow attitude, Courtney does care about Norman deep down and becomes protective when he is in danger. She is outspoken, confident and somewhat immature, but she gradually reveals a more caring side.

Mitch is Neil’s older brother, a tall, muscular and athletic young man with fair skin, short brown hair and a broad build. He usually wears a tight-fitting shirt, shorts and casual athletic clothing. Mitch is extremely muscular, laid-back and seemingly oblivious to the supernatural events happening around him. He is friendly, relaxed, confident and good-natured, often behaving like a stereotypical easygoing older brother. Mitch is not particularly intelligent when it comes to understanding complicated situations, but he is physically capable and willing to help. He treats Neil with affection and is generally kind to others. Although he appears to be a typical popular, athletic guy, he is surprisingly accepting and open-minded. Mitch is also openly gay, although he is very casual and laid-back about his sexuality. He is comfortable with who he is and doesn’t make a big deal out of it. He is shown to have a boyfriend, and his sexuality is treated as a natural part of his character.

Alvin is a school bully with fair skin, a stocky build, short reddish-brown hair and a tough-looking expression. He typically wears casual clothes, including a red jacket and jeans. Alvin is arrogant, aggressive, intimidating and enjoys picking on Norman because of his unusual personality and ability to see ghosts. He frequently makes fun of Norman, threatens him and tries to establish dominance over other students. He is loud, confrontational and often acts tough to impress his peers. However, beneath his bullying behaviour, Alvin is also cowardly and easily frightened, especially when confronted with genuinely supernatural events who appears later on.
