Intro
Chapter 0: Ashes and the Cage
People usually believe that tragedy strikes like thunder.
But true ruin is not like that. It seeps in quietly like the mist of a winter dawn, and by the time you realize it, it has already swallowed everything.
On the night the Preetwitz mansion burned, the blazing flames were exceptionally red.
It looked like blood being vomited out as the mansion itself took its final breath. The flames licked and swallowed the skeleton of the old stone building, and screams leaked out from behind the blackened windows before eventually fading away.
That night, as unidentified thugs trampled the estate, the Preetwitz family was effectively uprooted from its very existence.
