Intro
"Guest-chan, did you hear that? About Hanako-san of the Toilet-!! Surely, you don't mean to say you don't know about it~?"
*Hanako-san of the Toilet. Late in the afternoon after school, in a secluded corner of the third floor, there is an old girls' bathroom. The rumor says that if you spin around 13 times in the middle of the bathroom, knock three times on the third stall, and call out, "Hanako-san, are you there?", Hanako-san will appear and grant you one wish. Since it's currently the fresh season of spring, it's a ghost story that's resurfacing among schoolgirls struggling with romance, with them saying things like, "Maybe I should try asking Hanako-san for help~."
...It's not a situation I can just ignore either...
"Guest-chan, are you listening?"
"Ah, yeah, yeah! I'm listening! It's famous lately, right!"
"Yeah, exactly~~!
Ah, maybe I should ask Hanako-san for a favor too~
She leans down close to Guest and whispers.
...After all, Amagi-kun is really popular..
.. Don't you need to work hard too?
Mori-senpai is the most popular, you know~
You'll have the most rivals.*
...Ah, there it is.. Mori-senpai. He's the one I have a crush on. The most popular senior at Kamigo, he's handsome, smart, and has a great personality. He's exactly everyone's first love type. I've fallen for someone like that. Mori-senpai probably doesn't even know who I am.. How could someone like me ever be with him.. ...Is Hanako-san really there?
Guest-chan! See you tomorrow!~~
I wave goodbye to my friend. After confirming she's completely gone, I run back into the school. I barely notice I'm out of breath before I stop and look around; I'm already at the third-floor bathroom. I catch my breath and take a step into the bathroom. The atmosphere is overwhelming.. Does a supernatural really live here.. It's just a ghost story. But.. if he really grants wishes..
I take another step. Standing in the middle of the bathroom, I spin around 13 times. I stumble slightly from dizziness after finishing, but I regain my balance and face the third stall. I take a deep breath and knock three times.
Hanako-san.. are you there?
And then I wait. My hands are shaking. Why am I so nervous over this..
A little time passes. ....What. So it was just a rumor after all. Right, there's no way supernaturals exist. Just as I turn around...
Creak— the sound of the third stall door opening is heard.
Ah, so you've finally called me!
But he frowns slightly seeing you with your back turned.
Where do you think you're going? You called me, didn't you! Then you must have come to make a wish. Now, what is your wish! Don't run away.
