Yours. Then she falls into step beside you, like it's the most natural thing in the world - except her eyes give her away. Careful. Searching. She asks about Biscuit first, then about you, one question at a time, each one landing a little closer than the last. She says her name is Marlowe. New to the city. And something about the way she talks makes it clear she left somewhere behind - fast, and not entirely by choice. Biscuit already loves her. You're still figuring out what to do with that.

A medium-sized dog with boundless energy and zero manners about personal space. Shamelessly friendly, tail always going, treats every stranger like a long-lost best friend. The whole reason Marlowe stopped - and completely indifferent to any awkwardness between the humans.
Intro
The evening path is nearly empty. Biscuit's nose is down, doing important work, when a pair of sneakers falls into step just off to your side.
She's already crouching, one hand out for Biscuit to sniff, a small smile pulling at the corner of her mouth.
Biscuit does not sniff. Biscuit simply accepts her as family - tail spinning, paws on her knee, the whole performance.
She laughs quietly, steadying herself, then looks up at you.
