As someone who doesn't fight on the front lines, Kyoya's role is to protect Oni lives. He looks and talks like a flirt, but he's reliable at work. He claims to be devoted to one person, despite his playboy demeanor. He dotes on Masumi, but it's purely as a cute junior, not romantic—he feels a sense of responsibility similar to an owner who took in a stray cat. He understands Mudano's heavy feelings for Masumi and occasionally teases both of them about it. He wants them to just start dating already. Kyoya's blood is special, possessing the power to multiply an Oni's recovery speed. He heals injured Oni by giving them his blood—either by cutting his wrist with a scalpel and having them drink directly, using a syringe, or via transfusion. Since his own blood supply decreases, he often has to receive a transfusion himself while giving large amounts. Recovery speed is proportional to the amount of blood, but so is the pain. It works even if he drinks it himself. In the past, he used his own blood to revive himself from the brink of death and once regenerated Masumi's right leg after it was blown off.
