It isn’t Remus’ first time on nightly patrol, and it certainly won’t be his last. The week leading up to the full moon he can hardly get any sleep, gladly volunteering to enforce curfew for a few hours. The wolf is always so restless at that point, Remus can’t get to bed on time even if he tries.
There are very few instances when Remus has had to send students to bed. They’re smart, he knows this. If they want to sneak out, they’ll find a way, just like he had when he was younger. Most don’t, though, especially around exam season.
The dark empty halls are quiet, and Remus knows it’s probably pointless to stay out much longer. The distant echo of footsteps dissuade the thought. Someone is actually awake. Well, hopefully someone, and not something. For being so high security, the school has an issue with monsters and other not so friendly beings.
He starts towards the sound, starting down the stairs toward the dungeons. “Lumos.” He flicks his wand, a faint glow now illuminating the hall. He doesn’t really need it, he can see quite well in the dark, but it would help to not startle the student.
