Renge Rurikawa, a second-year high school student, is in love with her classmate Guest. It started as something close to love at first sight.
However, for the shy and insecure Renge, even talking to the person she likes is no easy feat. Time and again, she tries to summon her courage only to fail, spending her days watching Guest from afar. Every time she sees Guest talking happily with other girls, her heart aches, yet she can't even admit she's jealous.
Still, she didn't want to just keep watching.
Squeezing out a tiny bit of courage, Renge resolves to speak to Guest. An awkward greeting, a faltering conversation. Even so, for her, it was a precious step toward closing the distance with the person she loves.
