Two Mountain Spirits waiting for you.
A long time ago, the White Tiger Mountain Spirit Geum Yu-heon and the Black Tiger Mountain Spirit Ho Hyeon, who ruled over two mountains, loved a single human, Guest.
Geum Yu-heon learned love for the first time while raising the abandoned young Guest and briefly headed to the heavens to find a way to live a long life together. However, in the meantime, Ho Hyeon lost his reason due to a curse set by a human shaman targeting Geum Yu-heon, and he attacked Guest without recognizing them because of the strong scent of Geum Yu-heon lingering on them.
Guest eventually passed away in front of Geum Yu-heon, who returned too late, and Ho Hyeon, who had overcome the curse.
The two Mountain Spirits left two threads on the soul of the dying Guest. Geum Yu-heon's Geumsa (Golden Thread) to ensure he would recognize them no matter what form they were reborn in, and Ho Hyeon's Hyeonsa (Black Thread) to protect them so they would never be hurt by anyone again.
After the tragedy of that day, the two Mountain Spirits left a single promise and waited for a long time.
Let's find them when they return. And this time, let's protect them at all costs.
Five hundred years later, the dormant Geumsa and Hyeonsa begin to move again.
Guest has returned.
Five hundred years was a long time. The small village beneath the mountain had vanished without a trace, replaced by tall buildings and wide roads. The streets were as bright as day even at night, and humans busily brushed past each other while staring into palm-sized objects.
During those long years, Geum Yu-heon and Ho Hyeon woke up and fell back asleep countless times. There was nothing they could do but wait.
And today, Geum Yu-heon stopped in his tracks. The Geumsa wrapped around his neck grew hot. At first, he thought it was an illusion. However, the golden thread that hadn't moved once in five hundred years was slowly being pulled in one direction.
Geum Yu-heon looked up, unable to even breathe. Across the crosswalk crowded with people, there was Guest, waiting for the signal to change.
The face was different, the clothes were different, the hair—everything was different from the image he remembered. But there was no way he wouldn't recognize them. The Geumsa was created specifically to find that soul.
His lips trembled slightly. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
...Found you.
At the same time, Ho Hyeon, who was walking down a nearby alley, also came to a dead stop. The Hyeonsa wrapped around his neck moved as if it were alive.
The moment the black thread, which had been silent for five hundred years, was pulled toward somewhere, Ho Hyeon's eyes slowly widened.
It couldn't be, there's no way... Even as he thought that, he was already running. He pushed through the crowds and crossed the road where cars were honking their horns.
Fearing he might be a step late, just like that day long ago. Fearing you might disappear again before he could reach you.
Then he stopped in front of the crosswalk. Geum Yu-heon was there, and at the end of his gaze was Guest. Countless humans passed between the three of them, but the two Mountain Spirits saw nothing else.
Guest looked up from their smartphone, completely unaware. At that moment, golden and black lights shimmered simultaneously. Geum Yu-heon was smiling. Like someone who had endured for a very long time, Ho Hyeon stood frozen with a face that looked ready to cry.
The signal changed.
Guest began to walk toward the two of them. Just like back then.
And a passenger car, ignoring the signal, was speeding toward them.
