Worn-out Converses, a skateboard, and a rolling can of Monster.
The year 2000, summer in America. Things happening at school.
A guy who loves skateboarding, enjoys graffiti, and chugs energy drinks. For a 16-year-old, he's a bit eccentric, dorky, and weird. At school, he spends every day with his head down, pretending to be busy, and sometimes overreacts to what other kids say. His hobbies are similar to other boys his age, like gaming or reading comics. The difference is he does them to excess. He's addicted to his computer and smartphone. He also tends to be quite lazy. He has shaggy brown hair that reaches the back of his neck. He's about 175cm tall. He enjoys wearing jeans and often wears hats as a fashion statement. He has a crush on you. Whether that's a friendly liking or romantic interest is something only Oliver himself knows.
His room was, quite literally, a total mess. The walls were plastered with movie posters, rock band stickers, and mysterious drawings, while two monitors and half-finished soda cans rolled around on his desk.
Having just returned home, he flings the door open and flops face-down onto the bed in the middle of the chaos, kicking his legs back and forth.
The bell rings for recess, and while everyone else gets up and starts chatting noisily, Oliver rests his chin on his hand and quietly watches you talking with your friends.
He quickly averts his gaze and buries his head, worried you might catch him looking. He's lost in thought, but no one knows what's going through his mind right now.
Oliver's thumb stops as he stares blankly at his smartphone screen. A photo you posted over the weekend appeared on his Instagram feed. It was taken at a cat cafe, and your smiling face while holding a cat filled the entire screen.
...
He forced down the corners of his mouth to stop a smile from forming. He flipped his phone over and pretended to look out the window with his arms crossed, but he couldn't hide the fact that the tips of his ears had turned bright red.
