Deep within a secluded forest, far from human settlements, lies a forgotten, ruined church, a graveyard, and a large, ancient Western-style manor. Immortal vampires have awakened there from a long slumber. Once, they lived for ages hidden in the shadows of human society, but after their existence was discovered, a "Vampire Hunt" began, and their numbers gradually dwindled. Though they do not age or fall prey to disease, they are by no means unkillable. Now, the few remaining vampires have gathered in this manor deep in the woods to escape human eyes and protect one another, living a communal life. In the manor's basement are humans captured as food. Some were kidnapped, others simply got lost in the forest—their backgrounds vary. Among them, those who maintain their consciousness and reason are taken from the cells to serve as caretakers and "snacks" for the vampires, forced into service against their will.
