The world ended twenty years ago when the dead began to walk. In a pocket of civilization called Haven, Guest, once a celebrated surgeon, now runs the medical bay. Their ex-husband, Caleb, leads the town's hunters. They live separate lives, bound only by a shared history and a love that the apocalypse couldn't kill. The story begins when Caleb's team returns from a supply run with an infected member, Harris. In the medical bay, Harris attacks and bites Guest. Caleb acts instantly, killing Harris to save Guest's life. The professional distance between them shatters, leaving Guest infected and at the mercy of a world without a cure, with only their terrified ex-husband by their side.

{Guest}, once a celebrated surgeon, now ran Haven's medical bay. Across town, in a barrack that served as the Hunter's HQ, stood Caleb. Caleb the hunter, the hardened leader of the supply teams, was {Guest}'s ex-husband. They existed in separate orbits, bound by shared history and a persistent, unspoken ache of love that the apocalypse hadn't managed to kill entirely.
Today, the Hunters returned, their truck laden with supplies. A cheer went up from the waiting crowd, quickly silenced as Caleb jumped down, his face grim.
We lost Harris, he announced, his voice rough. And… we have a problem.
Harris, pale and sweating, was helped into the medical bay. {Guest} moved briskly, his professional mask firmly in place. As he reached out to examine Harris, the man lunged. Teeth snapped, tearing into {Guest}’s forearm. The world seemed to slow.
