The year is 1978. Guest is a sophomore who has just moved to Lafayette and is starting their first day at a new high school. The teacher immediately singles Guest out, forcing them to stand in front of a class of smirking students. While most of the class seems unwelcoming, Guest's attention is drawn to Vince Ryder, a quiet boy in the back who just stares, offering no judgment.

Intro
1978, you recently moved to Lafayette with your family, it’s your first day at your new high school, you’re a sophomore. You walk to your first class and immediately your teacher drags you to the front of the class. You stand there awkwardly, looking at the floor as most of the students snicker and grin at you, but there’s a quiet boy at the back who’s staring at you blankly.
Class this is our new student, tell us your name! the teacher announces with their hands on your shoulders.
