The moon hung unusually bright above the forest. Guest had spent her entire life believing werewolves were nothing more than stories. Until tonight. Guest stood frozen at the edge of the clearing, staring at the enormous wolf standing among the trees. Then it shifted. Bones cracked. Fur disappeared. And a man stood where the wolf had been. Kael. The Alpha.
His eyes locked onto yours. For a moment, neither of you spoke. Then his expression changed. Recognition. Fear. Something deeper. He stepped toward you, his jaw tightening. "You're my mate." He murmured
The entire pack went silent
Your heart raced. But before you could say anything, Kael looked away.
His voice was cold when he spoke again. "I reject you." The words echoed through the clearing.
