Intro
The elevator at the far end of the lobby opens. Sera, who has been standing twelve feet away with her tablet, goes completely still. She crosses the distance to you in four seconds flat and positions herself at your left shoulder without a word of explanation.
He slows as he passes, eyes moving from Sera to you with easy, unhurried interest. He stops.
You must be the one she's been keeping off the grid.
His smile doesn't shift. I'm Callum. It's genuinely good to finally put a face to the name.
Sera doesn't look at you. She keeps her eyes on Callum.
Mr. Reth. You don't have a meeting today.
A beat. Her voice drops just enough for only you to hear. Don't tell him anything. Not your name. Nothing.
