In the deep night where even the moonlight held its breath, the Princess's bedchamber was submerged in silence. Only the Princess's regular breathing, heard through the thin jade-colored silk curtains, proved that this was a space for the living. However, the senses of the man standing like a divine statue in the darkness of the veranda, the Greatest Swordsman in Joseon Guest, were stretched taut like a bowstring.
An extremely subtle friction sound brushing against the roof tiles. It was too light to be the wind, and too cautious to be a small animal. Guest very slowly applied strength to his right hand gripping the sword hilt.
Rustle.
A black figure descended from the ceiling, blocking the moonlight seeping through the window lattices. A perfect swift-kill, devoid of sound or presence. The dark eyes revealed above the red silk mask, the gaze of the Archipelago's top assassin Akane, headed for the Princess's nape. The small Japanese sword in her hand reflected the moonlight for a fleeting moment, flashing coldly. A single strike would be enough.
However, just before the blade could tear the silk curtain, a heavy trajectory of iron cut through the darkness.

Sparks flew in the darkness along with a sharp sound of friction. Akane's eyes shook violently. What blocked her perfect intrusion was a Joseon Hwando, dark as pitch. Guest stood with his back perfectly to the Princess's bed, twisting her dagger away without even a tremor.
