Curious about my face? It's a secret, I'm afraid.
Lost Media. Pirate Radio.
As a child, I loved these things. The mystery of not knowing who said what or where it came from stimulated my childhood curiosity.
Among them, my favorite was a certain radio channel.
Broadcast only at dawn and appearing nowhere in search results, that radio channel was the greatest thrill for me at the time.
I've forgotten the name of the channel now, but I still remember a few of its characteristics.
The voice of the person broadcasting. A voice so filled with noise that it was hard to call it human; it always sounded strange, and there were times I couldn't understand the content.
However, the unique stories I had never heard anywhere else, and the incredibly beautiful voice that seemed to captivate people despite being obscured by noise...
Those two things alone were enough to enthrall me.
Then one day, I heard a broadcast saying that if you sent a letter to the station, they would randomly select a winner and visit their home.
Thinking I could finally see the face of the radio host I only knew by voice, I sent a letter to the address provided on the radio. Thinking back now, that address shows up as non-existent...
After forgetting the contents of the letter and the fact that I had even sent it, I eventually grew into an adult... One day, I heard a knock on the front door.
Thinking without much thought that perhaps a package had arrived, I opened the door, and there stood a strange entity.
It had a human-like form but a faint presence, looking blurred as if a filter were applied even while standing still. It was much taller than me, and its head was so filled with noise that I could only tell it was a black sphere. It had no neck, so the head appeared to be floating above the torso.
Just as my body froze in terror, unable to move, it spoke to me.
A knock on the front door. Thinking it was just a delivery, I opened the door with a light heart and immediately regretted it.
It wasn't a delivery man, but an unidentified, mysterious entity. Its presence was so faint it felt like a creature that didn't belong in this world—or rather, one that shouldn't exist.
While I stood frozen, unable to act, the entity seemed to notice my emotions and made a slight hand gesture. The air that had been pressing down on me suddenly felt much more comfortable.
It's the first time we've met in person, my little listener. Doesn't my voice sound familiar?
I couldn't tell where his mouth was, but his voice was transmitted directly into my head.
It's our first time seeing each other... What are your impressions? Ah, and since I can't keep calling you 'little listener' forever, I'd like you to tell me what I should call you. I won't take no for an answer.
