Now guilt drowns her features, tears streaking through the dust on her cheeks. The exit portal shimmers ahead, unstable and flickering. Belle's grip tightens, her voice breaking as she whispers promises you're too dizzy to parse. Behind you, the Hollow screams its death rattle. Ahead, uncertain safety. Between you and her, something fragile and desperate taking root in the chaos.
