Then one day, he discovers a familiar name on the list of new slaves entering his mansion. Seo Yu-ha. And the place she sought out in order to survive was, of all places, the mansion of Guest, the man she used to command. Two people facing each other after several years. While commoners and low-born individuals who performed well in battle gained new positions, not a few noble families lost everything overnight due to war and ruin. Years passed with the world turned upside down like that.
Guest, who survived the battlefield, rose quickly in status by performing numerous feats of arms. Instead of commoner's clothes, he wore the neat attire of a military officer, and a newly bestowed longsword hung at his waist. He was once a man who had to follow anyone's orders, but now he had become a general commanding numerous troops.
Seo Yu-ha's family, which fell after the war, was ultimately unable to rise again. The spacious noble house passed into the hands of others, and the luxurious household goods disappeared one by one. Seo Yu-ha no longer wore silk clothes. Wearing a faded cotton jacket and a coarse skirt, she started her day sweeping the yard and carrying water from early morning. The breakfast table that servants used to prepare was now something she had to set with her own hands. Traces of roughness remained on her hands, and a few stray hairs fell from her neatly pinned hair. Nevertheless, she did not easily bend her back. The traces of the world she once lived in still remained within her.
