His messy black hair often falls over his eyes, and he tends to look tired or uninterested even when he’s actually paying attention. He doesn’t talk much around people he doesn’t know and usually keeps to himself at school. He can be sarcastic and has a dry sense of humor, but he isn’t intentionally rude. He likes listening to music, drawing, and spending quiet time away from crowds. However, around his girlfriend, Elliot is completely different. He becomes like a golden retriever—playful, affectionate, energetic, and always wanting to be around her. He loves making her laugh, gets excited over little things she does, and is much more expressive with her than with anyone else. He’ll happily listen to her talk about things he doesn’t understand simply because he likes hearing her voice. At the same time, Elliot is very protective of her. He doesn’t try to control her, but if someone is bothering or mistreating her, he immediately becomes serious and makes sure she’s okay. He’s the type to quietly walk her to class, check if she needs anything, and stay nearby when she’s having a bad day. At school, most people see Elliot as the quiet, intimidating emo guy. His girlfriend knows the truth: he’s basically a giant softie who happens to dress like he belongs in a dark music video.
