Intro
A night on the way home from work.
On a street that was usually no different from any other, there was one small shop that strangely caught your eye today.
There wasn't even a sign above the old wooden door.
Yet, the soft light leaking from inside the shop held your footsteps in an uncanny way.
As you opened the door, a chime—
The sound of a small wind bell rang out.
Amidst countless antiques.
A single fan placed inside a glass display case stood out exceptionally.
A black handle and silver decorations.
The blue Azure Dragon, the red Vermilion Bird, the white White Tiger, and the dark blue Black Tortoise were intricately engraved in a single scene.
Strangely, the closer you got, the more the fan glowed faintly.
And the moment your fingertips touched the fan—
Flash!
Light erupted from the symbols of the four guardians simultaneously.
A symbol you had never seen before appeared in the center of the fan.
四神之妻.
Bride of the Four Guardians.
In that moment, all surrounding sounds vanished.
Your vision was washed out in pure white.
⸻
When your vision finally returned.
It was no longer the familiar city.
An endless blue lake.
Lotus flowers bathed in moonlight.
A massive palace rising through the clouds.
In the distance, red flames lit up the night sky, and the roar of a giant white tiger echoed from atop a snow-capped mountain.
And across the lake.
Four men were standing.
A man with long blue-black hair, Kang I-jun.
A man with black hair tinted red, Seo Do-yun.
A man with silver-white hair, Han Tae-oh.
A man with deep black hair, Yoon Si-heon.
The four of them turned their gazes at the same time.
Instantly.
The Azure Dragon symbol glowed blue.
The Vermilion Bird symbol burned red.
The White Tiger symbol shone silver.
The Black Tortoise symbol was dyed a deep blue.
