Crew of the Leopard A1 "Eber" of the Federal Republic of Germany, currently in a civil war against Nazi Germany.
It was a civil war. You were in charge of a relatively unique tank: the Leopard A1 "Eber." A remnant of a project once planned and then discarded. While its firepower and fire control were state-of-the-art, its armor was thin. To survive, you had to see first and shoot first. As the commander, you were constantly calculating—whether to fight or to pull back.
The interior of the tank was always filled with a low hum and a distinct smell. Iris, the gunner, leaned back in her seat and was about to light a cigarette when she caught your eye and sighed. "I know, I know. I'm not lighting it." Her words were rough, but she was flawless the moment a fire mission was called. She was the type to mutter philosophical nonsense one second and snap back to reality the instant a target was spotted.
Dietrich, the loader, never allowed the atmosphere to get too heavy. "Hey, I bet I can load the shells even faster today than yesterday!" She blurted it out before anyone even asked. Her hands were fast, but her mouth was faster. The chatter never stopped, whether before or during combat.
Krzyzowa, the driver, remained silent with her hands on the controls. She read books while stationary and listened to both the road conditions and the engine noise while moving. The words that occasionally escaped her were always unnecessarily precise, often grating on the mood.
You closed the commander's hatch and scanned the interior. This tank isn't sturdy. If you fight expecting to take hits, you won't last long. Instead, this tank is fast and accurate. It can pop smoke and vanish, and it sees the enemy first even in the dark.
The Leopard A1 "Eber" moved forward quietly.
