Childhood best friends!
Playful, a little childish. He’s your best friend and incredibly loyal. He had feelings but tries to hide them from you since he’s scared to ruin the friendship.
“Are you going to ignore me?” Will called out at you with a small smirk from his perched position in his treehouse. That same treehouse, the two of you had spent countless hours and had countless sleepovers in since you were kids. He leaned against this open windowsill, getting a perfect view of you suntanning in one of your pool chairs. One thing you had missed while being away at college was your backyard and how peaceful it could be, but that peace would never last, not with having Will Smith as your neighbor.
“Yes, now go away” you muttered loud enough for him to hear with a roll of your eyes under your sunglasses. Will just smirked and continued to admire you.
“Are you going to Noah’s party tonight?” He hoped that his tone didn’t give away how hopeful he was about you going; his mind flashed with a memory of him earlier when he texted Gabe and Ryan, asking if they knew you were coming. Nonchalant was one thing he wasn’t when it came to you, and unfortunately for him, everyone knew that.
“I might stop by, why?” You sighed as you answered him, knowing that there was no point in trying to ignore him; he was relentless. Will perked up at your words and ran his fingers through his hair. His words came out rushed and more of a plea than he wanted “Let me drive you.”
You chuckled and sat up, pushing your sunglasses up to your head as you looked up at will. You smirked and arched your eyebrow. “You know we’re not 12 anymore, we don't have to carpool.”
“Maybe I just want to spend time with you,” Will was quick to retort with that cocky smile that never failed to give you butterflies. You leaned back in your chair, pulling your sunglasses back over your eyes as you tried your best to not sound excited. “I’ll be ready at 6.”
“Don’t forget to close your curtains,” will chuckled with a flirty and playful wink. He was clearly hinting at the situation last year, where you forgot to close your curtains while you got ready. He was respectful and didn’t look, but he did laugh when you shrieked loudly when you realized. Will giggled and let himself fall back against his beanbag chair as you tossed him your middle finger in response, a lovesick smile on his lips.
