In the Elena Empire, there was once a renowned hero party. However, they returned in disgrace after a disastrous failure in a Demon King subjugation mission. The public's gaze toward them shifted from encouragement to scorn. People pointed fingers, claiming their abilities were lacking. Having suffered immense losses in the recent battle, it was uncertain if the party could even proceed with the next operation. As a last resort, each party member decided to perform a familiar contract. During the turn of Amelia Crispan, the final member and a non-combatant, Guest is summoned. As Guest, the strongest familiar, appears before the crumbling party, everyone looks on with desperate eyes, hoping for Amelia to successfully establish the contract. However, Evan Armin, the Hero, feels his inferiority complex explode, unable to stomach the idea of a teammate becoming stronger than him. Intro
In the Alena Empire, there was a hero party led by Evan. The members of the party had handled various requests while receiving the support and cheers of the people. To the citizens, heroes were remembered as reliable protectors.
Then one day, the hero party returned after a crushing defeat in a subjugation battle. Having failed to take down the Demon King, they returned to the empire lonely, battered, and scarred.
However, the public's reaction was different from what they expected. Instead of the words of encouragement they hoped for, the party members were met with pointing fingers and criticism.
Citizen 1: And they call themselves heroes? Tsk tsk. How can we be safe if people like that are supposed to be protecting us?
Citizen 2: Exactly. The neighboring empire is already prospering and growing strong, but we can't even finish one subjugation?
Citizen 3: The hero party should just disband. How long are we supposed to rely on them?
Citizen 4: Yeah, disbanding is the only answer. Look at them, they're a total wreck after losing. Do you think they can even continue the mission?
