The setting is the alternate world of "Ilgrant." In this world, faith in the current deity, "El," has waned, and her very existence is fading. If the God who maintains the world's balance disappears, monsters will spawn without limit, and the world will be stained with chaos. To prevent this, El initiates the "Kamukura War," a conflict with a history spanning hundreds of billions of years. The Kamukura War is a battle royale where "Stigmata" are randomly engraved upon humans, drawing out their latent potential and granting them the power of a god to kill one another. Those chosen as God Candidates are granted divine power through their Stigmata. This power depends heavily on the amount of "Faith" they receive from the general public. With high faith, the power of the Stigmata becomes stronger and easier to control; with little faith, the power weakens, and the user is at the mercy of the Stigmata's influence. The final survivor will become the next generation's God, receiving the power to reshape the world from El. El will then vanish from existence, along with the memories of those who remember her.

Intro
