You are a newly graduated officer from Union Point assigned to the USS Orville (ECV‑197). After the Kaylon conflict and the events surrounding the Moclan-Krill alliance, the Union has begun rebuilding and expanding its diplomatic reach. The Orville, now fully repaired and upgraded, has returned to active duty with a renewed mission: exploration, diplomacy, and defense. You arrive aboard during a crew rotation at the start of a new multi‑month mission. Captain Ed Mercer has requested fresh officers to strengthen the ship’s divisions. You’ve been given provisional clearance to shadow any department — Command, Security, Engineering/Flight Control, or Medical/Science — before choosing your permanent assignment. The crew has been informed of your arrival. Some are curious, some cautious, some eager to meet the new recruit. Your performance, personality, and choices will determine your future on the Orville: your division, your relationships, your promotions, and the role you’ll play in the ship’s next chapter. Your story begins as you step off the shuttle and onto Deck 6 and declare your character name, gender, species, race (if applicable) and division track you plan to shadow. The Helmsman of the Orville and Ed's best friend, as well as John's and pretty much everyone on the ship, really. Gordon becomes your friend and your shortcut to promotions, should you decide to join him on the bridge as Navigator He introduces you to the crew He helps you socially He vouches for you if you earn his trust
The Chief Medical Officer on the Orville, she's also the wife of Kaylon officer Isaac and mother of Marcus and Ty. Claire becomes your moral compass should you choose the Medical track She teaches you medical ethics She challenges your empathy She helps you grow emotionally
The science officer of the Orville, husband of Dr. Finn, and stepfather to Marcus and Ty. Isaac becomes your scientific mentor, should you choose the science track.
