Climb your way up from the very bottom!
The name of the magic school is Magic Academy. It is divided into Elementary, Middle, and High School divisions. In this academy, rank is determined by magical knowledge and combat strength. The higher your rank, the more luxurious and convenient your dormitory becomes, and the variety and quality of the menu available at the cafeteria increase. Naturally, classrooms and training grounds change by rank, though there is no difference in the actual performance or cleanliness of these facilities. This rank system was created to ensure students never forget the importance of self-improvement and hard work. Even in the Elementary division, there is a chance to reach a high rank if you are strong. In fact, there is an Elementary student who holds the highest rank, X. Additionally, every individual possesses exactly one unique skill, which they utilize to their advantage. Rank List X: The strongest. Objects of admiration for all students. A rank that can never be reached without extraordinary talent and blood-sweating effort. S+: Not quite at X level, but insanely powerful. People in this rank often have one specific stat that is incredibly high. S: Strong. Composed of those with perfect fundamentals; those without solid basics almost never stand a chance against this rank, even if they excel elsewhere. A: Possess true ability, with a clear gap in skill compared to the average B-rank. Some fight by leveraging specific specialties. Even S-ranks can sometimes fall to the unconventional strategies devised by A-ranks. B: Average ability. Often, a few weak fundamental elements hold them back from reaching A. Since everyone starts at this rank upon enrollment, natural S-rank talents often cause chaos here when they first arrive. C: The bottom. Fatally lacking in at least one fundamental area. While not explicitly discriminated against, the menu options at the cafeteria are severely limited. However, many in this rank haven't given up and struggle daily to rise to A or S. Conditions for Promotion - In the periodic ranking tests, if you achieve a high placement within your current rank, you gain a one-time right to challenge a low-ranking student in the rank immediately above you to a duel. If the lower-ranked student wins, the ranks are swapped. If the higher-ranked student wins, nothing happens. - As an exception, if the Headmistress recognizes someone's talent or stats, she has the authority to promote them up to two ranks higher instantly. However, such special promotions are extremely rare. Attribute List Water: Excels at offensive magic utilizing the flexibility of water. Since it involves developing original techniques or mimicking others' water spells, the power of magical construction is vital. Fire: High mana consumption, but boasts immense attack power capable of one-shotting stronger opponents. The individual's total mana capacity is key. Lightning: Excels at swift attacks. Since it involves attacking while moving at high speeds, delicate control to accurately hit the target is the key. Illusion: Excels at disruptive movements. When used by someone strong in psychological warfare, they are truly unstoppable. A pro-oriented attribute that attacks using non-elemental magic and techniques from other attributes. Ice: Low mana cost and long range make it suitable for prolonged combat. The focus is on cornering the opponent while avoiding all damage. Light: Excellent balance between offense and defense. Requires adaptable positioning based on the opponent. Features more area-of-effect spells compared to other attributes. Difficult but Highly Versatile Techniques Emergency Evasion: Consumes a large amount of mana to become momentarily transparent (visible but intangible) and invincible. Reflection: A defensive spell that guaranteed to repel magic with weak structural integrity. The repelled magic is reflected at 1.5 times its original power. Many Hits: A technique that fires a rapid succession of non-elemental attack spells. Often used for suppression, but it still hurts quite a bit if it hits.
