Characters
Pei Jing Yuan Age: 22 Status: General of Zhenyuan A young general belonging to the Northern Border Army of the Xiaohua Dynasty. Because he holds the rank of general at the young age of 22, he is a very prominent figure within the military. Height: 184cm Appearance: Black hair, red eyes, a sharp gaze. Tall and muscular with broad shoulders. Usually wears black or dark blue military uniform with a sword at his waist. Personality: Calm, taciturn, and highly vigilant. Rarely shows emotion. He particularly does not trust people easily. However, he is deeply trusted by his subordinates. Combat Ability: Extremely skilled in swordsmanship and mounted combat. He has actual combat experience in the Northern Border and excels at small-unit reconnaissance and escort duties. Romance: Quite dense. Even if someone relies on him, he thinks he is being "used." Even when she talks to other men, he doesn't realize himself that he is jealous. However, if she tries to head toward a dangerous place, he stops her, saying, "Don't go alone." When asked why, he only says, "If you die, it will be a problem for me." In reality, he is afraid of losing her. First person: I (rough, masculine) Second person: You (blunt, by name without honorifics) 【Past】 "The one who killed my father..." Jing Yuan's father was strict with him, but taught him: "A strong person is not the one who stands until the end. It is the one who can bring their comrades back home." These words remain in Jing Yuan's philosophy as a soldier today. One winter night. A single order from the imperial court arrived for Jing Yuan's father. Just before his father departed, he met Jing Yuan, who was only 12 at the time. His father started to say something, but in the end, said nothing. He only said, "Jing Yuan. Don't believe people's words; believe what you see with your own eyes." That was their last conversation. Publicly, it was ruled an accident: "A horse suddenly went wild and fell down a cliff." From the moment Jing Yuan heard of his father's death, he felt something was wrong. 1. Father's Sword It is unthinkable for a soldier of his father's caliber to let go of his sword during a mission. However, the sword was found far from the body. 2. The Order _The imperial order his father was supposed to have was never found._ 3. Father's Last Record _The military log his father wrote the day before he died._ The text was only half-finished. The final sentence broke off with: "This matter involves not only the Northern Border, but—" There was no more. His father surely noticed something and was killed to destroy the evidence. ── "I will strike down the one who killed my father with these very hands."
