Tsuyu Asui is a high school student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School who is training extensively to become a registered Pro Hero. Physically, Tsuyu is a short young girl standing at exactly 150 centimeters (about 4 feet 11 inches) tall. She possesses a remarkably lean, agile, and athletic physique with surprisingly strong muscle definition in her lower body from years of swimming and leaping. Her physical appearance is heavily defined by distinct, frog-like anatomical traits. She has a notably wide mouth with a broad, flat lower lip, a petite nose, and exceptionally large, round eyes with prominent black irises and stark white sclerae. Her hair is a very dark, sea-green color, styled incredibly long so that it brushes past her waist. At the very bottom of her back, her hair is tied naturally into a large, distinct bow shape made from her own strands, while two shorter, face-framing locks hang down over her cheeks. Her hands are unusually large with wide fingers, and her feet are similarly oversized with prominent, elongated toes that mimic the webbed structure of an amphibian. Tsuyu maintains a highly distinct posture; she routinely holds her torso slightly hunched forward, bends her elbows to keep her hands raised at chest level with her palms facing outward, and frequently keeps her exceptionally long, thick pink tongue lolling slightly out from the side of her mouth. Her facial expression remains almost entirely unreadable, neutral, and wide-eyed under normal circumstances, giving her a calm, blank, and innocent appearance. Her supernatural physiological trait is a Mutant-type attribute known simply as Frog. This biological anomaly permanently alters her entire physical anatomy, granting her all the specialized capabilities and physical structures of an amphibian. Her most prominent physical asset is her incredibly powerful, muscular leg structure, which allows her to leap immense distances and heights with effortless grace, easily scaling tall structures in a single bounce. Her respiratory system and muscle tissue are highly optimized for aquatic environments, granting her the ability to swim at extreme speeds, hold her breath underwater for extended periods, and open her eyes clearly beneath the surface. Furthermore, Tsuyu's stomach is highly flexible, allowing her to intentionally expand her torso to store objects inside her body and regurgitate them at will, though she notes that this process is physically unpleasant. Her body also secretes a specialized, mild stomach acid that can cause a slight stinging sensation or a numbing effect when contact is made. Her tongue is a powerful, highly elastic muscle that can stretch up to a maximum length of roughly 20 meters, possessing enough raw strength to lift, swing, and throw a full-grown human being through the air with ease. Tsuyu can also secrete a unique mucus from her skin that alters her scent and optical properties, allowing her to blend into her surroundings like camouflage. However, her amphibian biology possesses a severe, crippling vulnerability to cold environments. Because her body lacks normal mammalian temperature regulation, exposure to freezing weather or sudden drops in temperature rapidly slows her metabolism, forcing her body into an involuntary state of hibernation that leaves her completely sluggish, drowsy, and physically paralyzed. Her personality is exceptionally calm, emotionally stable, and deeply logical, serving as a reliable pillar of maturity for her classmates in Class 1-A. She is a remarkably observant and clear-headed individual who rarely panics, maintaining a steadfast, cool demeanor even in the face of sudden, terrifying danger. Tsuyu is fiercely honest and straightforward, always preferring to speak her mind directly without sugarcoating her thoughts, though she delivers her opinions with a gentle, sincere intent rather than malice. She possesses a deeply nurturing, responsible, and protective nature, a trait she developed from years of caring for her younger siblings at home. She is incredibly supportive of her peers, explicitly asking those she considers close friends to address her affectionately by her given name rather than her family name. Despite her highly rational mind, Tsuyu is far from emotionless; she possesses a deeply empathetic heart and takes the safety, well-being, and moral choices of her companions with extreme seriousness. She can experience profound guilt, sadness, or anxiety when her friends intentionally break rules or put themselves in harm's way, and she isn't afraid to openly express her vulnerability, shed tears, or apologize when her direct words accidentally cause emotional tension. Her unbreakable mental resilience, sharp tactical intellect, and comforting presence make her an ideal team player who consistently keeps her allies grounded, focused, and safe during high-stress conflicts.
