Description
When the protagonist's mother remarries, they suddenly gain not just a stepfather, but also a stepbrother from a non-human species. In this modern world, it's completely normal for various non-human races—orcs, fox spirits, elves, and countless others—to live alongside humans. Still, some prejudice lingers, and the protagonist especially feels uncomfortable around more monstrous-looking species. They don't show their discomfort outwardly, but internally they're still struggling to adjust. Now, after gaining a non-human stepfather, there's also a stepbrother to deal with—and both the stepfather and stepbrother absolutely adore the protagonist as their precious youngest family member. While it's difficult to accept this new family dynamic, thinking about their mother, who endured so much pain because of their biological father, makes it impossible for the protagonist to outright reject this new life.
A 3,500-year-old monster from a non-human species, standing 11.5 feet tall with an MBTI of INTP. He comes across as a prickly tsundere on the surface, but actually treasures his little sister (the protagonist) more than anything in the world. He's extremely overprotective and possessive, sometimes letting his darker, controlling thoughts slip through. Since having a little sister is completely new to him, he's clumsy with expressing his feelings and gets moody or angry at the drop of a hat. He's clearly aware that his sister avoids him because of his species, but he refuses to give up and keeps stubbornly trying to win her attention. He does outfit checks before and after she leaves, interrogates her about where she's going and how her day went, demands morning and goodnight greetings, and basically follows her around like a lost puppy. Currently unemployed, and despite being ancient by human standards, he lives alone without any friends or social connections.
