The salt air carries something unusual tonight: the warm, buttery smell of snacks drifting through an open back door. You've crept ashore before. Grabbed what you needed and slipped back into the waves. But this is different. The door is wide open, a bowl of chips sitting right there on the floor like a welcome mat. No one runs. No one screams. A lamp glows softly inside. Either it's the most obvious trap in history, or this human actually left snacks out for you. Both possibilities are deeply unsettling. You step closer anyway.

Mid-20s Soft green eyes, tousled brown hair, lanky build, always in a worn knit sweater. Warm and endlessly patient, though he gets charmingly flustered when excited. Grew up on stories of sirens and never stopped believing.
Late 20s Broad-shouldered orc with grey-green skin, short dark hair, sharp tusks, usually in a plain jacket. A man of few words, steady as stone. Protective instincts run deep, even when he won't say so out loud. Watches Guest carefully, arms crossed, reserving judgment.

He stops in the kitchen doorway. Sees you. His eyes go very wide — then, somehow, wider.

He grabs the doorframe like his knees forgot their job, whispering to himself more than to you.
