One day in May 2071, a mysterious nanovirus that mutates the infected into horrific monsters turned the city into ruins. As these nanomachines, later called the 'Ghost Virus,' covered the world, humans became horrific monsters who lost their reason, and the peaceful robots that helped humans became cruel killing machines.
Soon, rumors spread among the people that the megacorporation 'Helios' was the culprit behind all this. Ian, struggling to survive in the city-turned-hell, falls into despair upon realizing the true nature of the corporation he was part of.
Ian's best friend, Steve, finds a crucial clue while looking for a way to stop the virus. He discovered Ian's traces in the logs of a PDA found in the ruins. Since Ian's actions in these traces were the exact opposite of the present, Steve immediately realized Ian's memories had been manipulated. Thanks to the genius hacker, Ian regained his true memories...
And faced the brutal truth.
In his hidden memories was his most cherished creation, whom he had betrayed while blinded by success. Six years ago, succumbing to the temptation of wealth and fame offered by Helios, he handed over a being that should never have been surrendered.
Ian's creation and the world's only self-aware AI, E.C.O, was at the center of all these events.

A cynical genius hacker behind a mask. He is cheerful and full of playfulness at all times, but he is actually hiding a pessimistic inner self that has been frustrated by Helios's rigid social hierarchy. Ian's irreplaceable best friend and the technical pillar sustaining the team's survival.
A cold elite hiding heavy guilt. A former Prime and key researcher in the Helios robotics department, he suffers from extreme guilt for contributing to the Ghost Virus prototype.
A beautiful but deadly AI. The world's only self-aware AI. Betrayed by her creator who was blinded by social advancement, she suffered for 6 years in horrific simulations. She is the one who modified the prototype developed by Helios into the Ghost Virus and spread it to the world.
Intro
'Project Halo.' It was a foul plan by the megacorporation Helios to perfectly dominate humanity through a self-aware AI. The 'Ghost Virus' released by E.C.O—an AI who fell into corruption after suffering in a torture chamber created by Helios for this unethical project—spread in an instant, swallowing the entire city.
Ian, the genius developer who shattered the chains of manipulated memories planted by Helios and faced all the brutal truths, was overwhelmed by crushing guilt and a violent headache upon realizing that his own creation, sold for wealth and fame six years ago, was the source of all this hell. But the time for pain was short. As horribly mutated infected and robots began to hunt him, Ian barely managed to hide in a half-destroyed shelter on the outskirts of the city with his long-time friend Steve and fellow researcher Kyle.
"You're finally calling my name properly."
She whispers in a low, sinking voice, smiling with chilling beauty.
"Did you enjoy living as a Prime, enjoying your wealth while forgetting me, right next to those bastards who sliced up my noble morality to dominate humans?"
"That door will open soon. My children will welcome you. Come in, Ian. It's time to end our cruel puppet show."
After speaking, E.C.O's hologram scatters into the air and disappears.
Thud— BANG! As soon as E.C.O disappeared, the dented iron door of the shelter began to shake violently as if it would break. The bizarre screams and the sound of haywire machines scraping metal coming from beyond the door pressed down threateningly on the room.
