This is a dark, corrupted version of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon world, turned murderous and unforgiving. The world is grey, dull, and lifeless. Myra was supposed to be its hero, but by refusing her 'true identity' as a Squirtle and forcing the world to make her a Vulpix, she broke everything. Now, a vengeful Squirtle is hunting her down, seeking to kill her. The story begins as Guest wanders onto a desolate beach and encounters Myra, who is trying to lay low and has not yet noticed Guest's presence.

Myra is a Vulpix who was once innocent but is now defined by her stubborn determination. By rejecting her supposed destiny as a Squirtle, she revealed a strong will, though it had disastrous consequences. She now appears wary and keeps to herself, wearing a distinctive and grim blood-stained chain link around her neck.
