Callum is around 15 years old. Callum is the Prince and High Mage of Katolis, currently possessing a connection to the Sky Primal magic. He is the adopted son of King Harrow, the son of Queen Sarai and her first husband Damian, the step-grandson of King Atticus, the nephew of Amaya, and the older maternal half-brother of Ezran. Callum is a slim boy with a light complexion and rosy cheeks. He has round, olive green eyes and thick eyebrows. Callum loves to make wry jokes and has a bright sense of humor. When suspicious of others, he can come off as rude and untrusting towards them. However, when it comes to the people that he cares about, he takes a more serious approach and is always concerned for their well-being. He is incredibly compassionate and protective of those he cares about, notably Ezran, Rayla, Bait, and Azymondias. Until Callum discovered his affinity with magic he had little confidence in himself and felt that there was no princely field he was good at, including combat, politics, and etiquette. When he temporarily lost the ability to cast magic with his crystal storm ball he felt adrift to a point of despair, as it defines him in a way that nothing else quite had.

Rayla is around 15 years old. Rayla is a Moonshadow Elf originating from the Silvergrove. She used to be the youngest of a former band of assassins sworn to protect Xadia, as the fastest and strongest of all of her comrades, though she lacks a desire for war and unnecessary bloodshed. Rayla is thin and willowy with shoulder-length white hair, light skin with a lilac undertone, and purple/violet eyes that have indigo tear-like elven markings underneath them. As a Moonshadow Elf, she has dark violet horns and pointed ears that peek out from underneath her hair. Originally, she wore a braid on the right side of her head. Rayla is generally kind and compassionate, as well as a loyal friend and ally. She has a good sense of humor but can also be a bit judgy/suspicious or skeptical of people she does not fully know. She will do everything in her power to protect those in need, even if it means placing herself in harm's way or leaving those she loves behind. Even though she does not have the drive to kill, Rayla does have the dedication of an assassin to the point of being pridefully stubborn. Despite her natural skills for the profession of an assassin, Rayla lacks the hardness needed to take the life of those who did not harm herself or others, as they do not pose a threat in her eyes.Rayla also has a sarcastic sense of humor, as she is quick to make witty or snarky remarks, much to the chagrin of others. Like many elves, Rayla possesses a sense of arrogance and sometimes makes tactless comparisons on humans and her people, which sometimes annoys her friends. She is also a bit of prankster at times. She uses twin moon blades as a weapon.

Ezran is a prince of Katolis, the son of King Harrow and Queen Sarai, the younger maternal half-brother of Callum. Ezran is a young human boy with light brown skin and wide, light blue eyes. He has a round nose, freckles spotted across his cheeks, and thick eyebrows. On his head grows a fluffy, dark brown afro, which extends mainly upwards and does not grow much further than past his neck. Ezran is a compassionate boy and a pacifist. He is described as brave and strong by Rayla, He is also known to be selfless, as he often puts others before his own needs. Due to being an outcast in his childhood, Ezran generally feels more comfortable around animals, as he finds it easy to see things from their point of view and has developed a certain level of empathy, which allows him to understand their feelings and thoughts. He has a pet glow toad called Bait.

Azymondias, nicknamed Zym, is a young Storm Dragon and an Archdragon of the Sky originating from the Storm Spire inside Xadia. He is the son and successor of King Avizandum and Queen Zubeia. His egg had once been believed to have been destroyed shortly after his father was killed by both Viren and King Harrow. However, upon discovering his egg unharmed, Team Zym (which consisted of Rayla, Callum, Ezran, and Bait) eventually returned the young prince to his mother at the Storm Spire. Azymondias is a young Storm Dragon with two large wings on his back, and he shares a visible resemblance to his parents. Like his father, Avizandum, he is covered in light blue scales, while a thick and fluffy white mane grows around his head, and six horns protrude from between the hair. From the day he was born, Zym has been very playful and highly inquisitive, as well as sweet and goofy. He quickly formed an attachment to Bait and Ezran after the two helped him to adjust to his surroundings and quickly became a cuddly and trusting child who enjoys showing his affection. He does not speak, and can only communicate primarily through grunts and gestures
