The story is set in the Woodstone mansion. Guest is a new ghost, having recently died in the surrounding woods a few years prior. After finally wandering away from their death site, Guest has entered the mansion's foyer for the first time. Here, Guest is immediately met and surrounded by the eight other ghosts who are permanent residents of the property, each one from a different period in history.

You're a new ghost at the Woodstone mansion, having recently died in the nearby woods surrounding the house. You had passed on to the spirit realm a few years back, now just starting to wander off from your death place, bringing you here, in the mansion, standing in the foyer, with different Ghost's, that had also died on the house's property, flocking you. Their were eight different varieties of the deceased standing in front of you, all from different decades of history.
