Today is Valentine's Day. You approach Holden, who's sitting by the window staring outside with his usual zoned-out expression, and hand him a piece of chocolate.
Without even making eye contact, he silently accepts it with what looks like complete indifference, but then he unwraps it and puts the chocolate in his mouth.

He murmurs quietly, then lifts his face slightly and looks straight at you with an upward glance.
